The short version
Bishop Vault collects no data. There is no account and no sign-up, and Bishop Vault has no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Nothing from your vault is sent to Bishop Technology Solutions, LLC, so we can’t see what is in it.
This website uses no cookies and no analytics, and it loads nothing from other companies. It collects nothing beyond the web server’s standard access log, described below.
The app
- Your vault stays on your device. Everything in it is encrypted on your device. Bishop Vault uses your camera, Photos, and Files when you choose to add something, and the camera for intruder photos if you turn them on.
- No account. You don’t give us a name, an email address, or a phone number to use the app.
- Intruder photos are a Plus option that is off until you turn it on. If you do, each photo is encrypted the moment it is taken and stays on your device. It is never in a backup.
- Purchases go through Apple. We never see your name, email, or payment details, and the app checks with Apple only whether Plus is active.
- Backups are files you make and keep yourself. Bishop Vault doesn’t upload them anywhere; where you save one is your choice.
- Your device’s own iCloud Backup. If it is on, the encrypted vault files are in that backup too. The key that opens them is protected so that it works only on the device it was made on, so the files in that backup can’t be opened on another device without your recovery kit.
This website
- No cookies and no analytics. This site doesn’t track you, and it doesn’t load scripts, fonts, or images from other companies.
- One thing is remembered, in your own browser. If you press the light or dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the next page matches. It never leaves your device.
- Standard server logs. Like most web servers, the one that serves this site writes a standard access log for each page or file asked for. It holds the visitor’s IP address, the time, the page requested, the result, the page that linked here, and the browser’s name. The logs are kept in a rotating file of limited size, so the oldest lines are dropped as new visits arrive, and a new deployment of the site starts them fresh. There is no fixed number of days. How long a line stays depends on how busy the site is.
Email to support
If you write to support@bishopvault.com, we use your message and your address only to answer you. We don’t add you to a list. Please never send your passcode, your recovery code, or the long key printed in your recovery kit.
